The Grundy County Housing Authority is an independent, non-taxing Illinois Municipal Corporation chartered pursuant to the Illinois Housing Authorities Act. Our mission is to provide safe, decent, and affordable living opportunities for all program qualified residents of Grundy County, Illinois.
Working in partnership with the United States Department of Urban Development, the Illinois Housing Development Authority, private investors and donors, our homes are a safe haven for some of Grundy County's most vulnerable residents.
The Grundy County Veterans Assistance Commission (GCVAC) is an independent county commission that is operated by and for veterans for the purpose of promoting the welfare of honorably discharged veterans of military service and their families; to act as a central service office for all veteran organizations and to assist with all VA claims work referred to the commission by member organizations and the community; and to have general oversight of the distribution of all relief and supplies that may be appropriated for the benefit of military veterans and their families.
Through affordable housing, Habitat partner families can free up money for child care, education, family activities, and savings while building pride and self-esteem. The no-interest mortgage allows families to build equity and improve their credit.
Most people think of Habitat volunteers as those who swing hammers, drive nails, paint walls and complete other construction tasks. Although we could not exist without those dedicated people, we also have a critical need for volunteers willing to serve on committees, educate and train our partner families, help with events, and provide lunch for our crews.

The Morris Area Public Library District provides our community with the power of information to encourage the joy of reading, cultural and technological literacy, while engaging and inspiring all members of the community.
The Morris Hospital Auxiliary and Foundation share a mission to engage the community in philanthropic support for Morris Hospital. Both organizations provide for programs and equipment purchases which may not otherwise be possible for the Hospital or would require more time for the Hospital to fund through its operations.
